I heard a sly voice. I heard the wind blow and a whisper. I looked up. I saw nothing. I looked around the room. I still saw nothing. It was alarming and I was scared. Then I saw a fiery light flash. It looked like a pool of fire. I was very scared. Then a baby dragon appeared out of the darkness. Aha! That was the noise!

One night I heard a whisper and no-one was there. Then I realised that it was the tooth fairy. I heard her whispering to me. In the morning I asked, “Where is the tooth fairy?” and my mum didn’t know. The next night the tooth fairy came back. She told me that her house looked fantastic and what colour it was. And then she never came back. I like the tooth fairy. She is my friend now.

Then Dad came in and said, “Happy Birthday.” “Why are you so late for my birthday Dad?” I said. “I am sorry to tell you this but I am going to a different country because I accidentally pressed something on the computer.” “Are you coming back Dad?” “I don’t know love.” “When are you going?” “Tomorrow,” said Dad. “Oooh. Can you change it back?” I said. “No sorry.” “Dad what is this thing?” “It’s a new cat. I know you’ve always wanted a cat.” “Oh yes. I have wanted a cat. What’s its name Dad?” “You can choose,” Dad said. “Yay. Hmmm I think Tospy.” “Great choice lovely.” The next day was my birthday and the day for Dad to go. When it was time for Dad to go Mum asked if I wanted to stay home or go to drop Dad off. “Drop Dad off please,” I said. “Okay love.” When it had been nine days Mum had a surprise for me and …Boo! Suddenly Dad came out from behind the curtains and I jumped up into his arms. “I missed you so much,” I said. “I did too,” Dad said. Then I remembered I had a surprise for him. “Come with me Dad.” When we got to Topsy I said, “Open your eyes.” When he did he saw Topsy lying on her bed with little twin kittens. Dad was so happy he wanted to celebrate.

I now knew what made the noise. The noise was the wind. Then I looked at the moon and the stars. The stars twinkled and then I saw Dad. It was good to be back home. Then I heard it again. It was blowing in the breeze. Dad called me to get in bed. He tucked me in bed and I still heard the wind.

Once upon a time I heard a whisper coming from outside so I went outside in the dark. I heard the whisper again and when I got closer it got louder and louder until I finally got there. It was a nice dinosaur. As I got outside I saw wolves. As I kept walking I saw more wolves but then I stopped for a moment and I just remembered that God would always be with me. So God helped me to not be afraid. God was talking to me about trying not to be afraid ever so I listened to Him.

Athletics Day

The day started overcast and quite cool but Mr Watson told us we still had to wear sunscreen. Eden was thrilled when she got there. Jack had fun riding to the event in the trailer with Serena. It was really exciting to meet up with old friends and the rest of our school. We found our groups and started the rotation. Christy was ecstatic because she got third in the long distance run. Rosy was so keen she nearly overtook the twelve year leader in the long distance run. They called these leaders ‘rabbits.’ Sophia was first and Isaiah came third in long distance running. Lily was jubilant because she got third in sprints. Sophia finally found the shop, only to find the line was really long and the place was a bit stinky. Ollie had two pottles of hot chips, an ice block and a lemonade! At the end of the day they some different races. They had the fastest runner from each school, a teenage race and a parent race. Eden’s dad was first in the parent race and Rosy’s dad was second. The pre-schoolers race was really cute. We let the other schools take the trophies this year. What a great day! Room 2

New cushions for Room 2

Wow Mel! Thank you so much. Mel and Ollie spent yesterday afternoon making two cushions for our class. We are studying living things this term so we are planning to make individual "living thing' cushions. Ollie you are well ahead! They are gorgeous and have been well used already.

Geometry Sculptures

We used toothpicks and mini marshmallows to make geometric shapes. We needed to put either 3,4 or 5 toothpicks into each marshmallow. We found that we made a huge number of triangles. They were a lot stronger than the squares we sometimes made.
