Sleepover

On Wednesday 6 March Rooms 1 and 2 headed back to school in the late afternon for a sleepover. We had fish and chips for tea (the fish was huge!)and then icecream in a cone. We had a play on the playground then got into our pjs. We headed to Room 2 for a short movie session then snuggled up for bed. Okay, really we played with our torches and talked a lot, but we did get to sleep eventually. In the morning we made our sandwich for lunch before breakfast. The favourite sandwich filling was sprinkles. Some people had them by themselves and some had them with luncheon and tomato. Roll on lunchtime!

Kids Can Cook

The Kids Can Cook mobile kitchen visited today. We have lots of photos and videos which we will share later but in the meantime here is the recipe we cooked for you to try. Apple and Silver Beet Crepes – the key is to get the kids to make them as well, crepes are easy and fun and you can fill with any filling – even leftovers! 250 g Plain Flour 1 1/2 cups of milk 2 eggs Garden herbs Apples, Grated Silverbeet or Spinach, Washed Mix milk and eggs, whisk into flour and leave to rest for 20 mins. If it is too thick thin with a little milk. Ladle into crepe pans and cook until golden brown, leave to cool. Mix Apple and thinly sliced silver beet together, add chopped herbs and roll up into a tight cylinder. Serve cold or hot by placing in the oven with a little cheese over the top.
